It's difficult for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her newest gem.

Then best known as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed I've had no rhythm whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your fighting spirit take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was underway.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have pushed back plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
